New Irrigation Schedule Starting April 20th
Roats Water System is improving how we deliver irrigation water to our patrons.
Starting Monday, April 20th, we are moving to a new irrigation schedule designed to provide more reliable irrigation water delivery.
What you need to know
Odd-number addresses will irrigate on odd calendar days (example: 123 Smith Road)
Even-numbered addresses will irrigate on even calendar days (example: 124 Smith Road)
Each home has a specific irrigation water window start time for when your system should run
We request that timers are set to run each zone for 30 minutes to start the season
Reliable Irrigation Starts with a Stronger Water Source
As you may know, we previously sourced our irrigation water from the Arnold Irrigation District, which led to water restrictions due to drought conditions. Beginning in 2025, we’ve switched to supplying irrigation water from a groundwater aquifer, which provides a more reliable, dependable water source that eliminates the risk of shutdowns or flow reductions.
By adhering to your water window schedule, you can help spread demand more evenly across the system and protect our long-term supply to ensure consistent water availability for everyone.

Efficient irrigation is an important part of protecting our shared water resource. While our transition to groundwater provides a more reliable supply, it also comes with a responsibility to use that water thoughtfully.
The most effective landscapes are not the ones that use the most water. They are the ones that use water efficiently and intentionally. Proper scheduling, well-maintained systems, and thoughtful plant selection all play a role in reducing waste while keeping landscapes healthy.
We encourage all customers to take an active role in understanding their irrigation systems and exploring opportunities for improvement. Simple adjustments such as checking for leaks, optimizing sprinkler coverage, updating timers, or adjusting for seasonal conditions can significantly improve efficiency and overall performance.
Efficient irrigation keeps our system strong for everyone. Small changes across the community add up. By making informed decisions about how water is applied, we can collectively support long-term sustainability while maintaining the landscapes that make our community special.
