How can I keep my pipes from freezing?
- During October, usually around the time of the first freeze, you need to have your sprinkler system blown out. This prevents water that has settled in your pipes from freezing and bursting pipes in your sprinkler system.
- Cover all of you outside faucets with faucet insulators. These can be purchased at any home supply store.
- During the cold weather all of the outside vents on your house need to have vent plugs. Vent plugs can be purchased very inexpensively at any home supply store.
- If you live in a mobile home all of the piping under your house needs to be wrapped with heat tape to prevent the pipes from freezing during the cold winter months.
